Safeguarding Project Activities for Child Protection Week
3-9 September 2017
The Archdiocese Safeguarding Office is coordinating a number of activities to be held for and during Child Protection Week 2017.
This year’s competition is to design a poster using the title – 'God gave all children the right to feel safe at all times’.
The Parish will be choosing a winner from each age category and those winner entries will be forwarded to the Archdiocese Safeguarding Office for the overall judging.
The overall winner will receive an iPad and have the opportunity for their poster to be used to create the official safeguarding poster.

Closing date for entries has been extended to Wednesday 16 August 2017.
All entries and a completed registration form are to be submitted by this date. They can be:
· Placed in the box at the back of the Church;
· Delivered to the Parish or School office;
· Email to the OLG Safeguarding Officers at email@example.com
Child Protection Week Breakfast Event
The Perth Catholic Archdiocese will be the host for the official Western Australian Child Protection Week Event. Child Protection week is a national week and in every state one event is chosen by NAPCAN (National Association for the Prevention of Child Abuse and Neglect) to be listed as the official state event. The OLG Safeguarding Officers have reserved a table for six, if you are interested please contact Joan Burke, refer to the flyers that are displayed around the Church or contact the Perth Catholic Archdiocese Safeguarding Office on 9221 7763. The breakfast is being held on Tuesday 5 September at the Duxton Hotel, cost is $49 per person.
Safeguarding Protective Behaviours Parents Workshop
OLG has teamed up with the Greenwood and Whitfords parishes to host a Safeguarding Protective Behaviours Parents Workshop. The workshop will be held on Wednesday 6 September 6-9pm and will be presented by Officers from the Perth Catholic Archdiocese Safeguarding Office. The venue for the workshop is Liwara Catholic Primary School, Greenwood. The Parish will be celebrating Child Protection Week during the masses on the weekend 9 & 10 September. Details will be provided closer to the date.
